As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting access control at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and employees, verify credentials, manage visitor entry, and monitor activity at gates and key points. You will complete routine patrols, document security-related observations, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring a people-first mindset and integrity as you help keep operations moving through teamwork and reliable service.

Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor and contractor sign-in, and directing drivers, employees, and guests to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, document irregular activity, and promptly report concerns through established communication and escalation channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with traffic flow, crowd management, and coordination with site leadership and/or first responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, yards, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
