As an unarmed patrol officer in an education location, you will monitor campus areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will greet students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, communicate clearly, and document observations. Requirements
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, common areas, parking lots, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance and communicating with site contacts and/or local emergency services as needed.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with check-in, directions, and enforcement of posted rules and policies.
- Complete timely reports on incidents, hazards, and patrol observations, and communicate findings to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
