As an Access Control Officer at a cultural institution, you will welcome guests, manage entry points, verify credentials, and monitor visitor flow while conducting routine patrols of assigned areas. You will stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, respond to questions with professionalism, and document activity clearly. Requirements

  • Have Security Experience ‐ 1+ Years.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, members, guests, clergy, staff, volunteers, and/or vendors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff access control posts at entrances and interior checkpoints, verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, monitoring sign-in logs, and helping to manage authorized access to restricted areas such as offices, collections, and event spaces.
  • Monitor alarm panels, access control systems, radios, and/or CCTV, report suspicious activity, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, galleries, chapels, offices, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized entry, theft, and/or property damage, noting hazards or maintenance issues and reporting them per site procedure.
  • Support services, public programs, tours, and special events by managing queues and pedestrian flow, assisting with guest directions, completing incident reports, and coordinating with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
