As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors with courteous service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Guided by Allied Universal values, you will act with integrity, support a people-first culture, and work as a reliable teammate to address concerns and support daily campus operations.

Requirements

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following site-specific policies and completing required security-related documentation and/or reports.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services as required.
• Monitor access points and key locations for unauthorized entry, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior, taking appropriate actions consistent with post orders.
• Assist with emergency response activities such as evacuations and/or shelter-in-place procedures, providing direction to occupants and supporting incident coordination as directed.
