As an Access Control Officer at a government location supporting critical transit operations, you will help manage entrances, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and monitor activity using computer or tablet systems. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide clear, professional customer service to staff and guests. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, employees, contractors, and/or visitors while following site-specific access control procedures at a government location.
  • Control entry and exit points by checking identification, validating credentials, issuing temporary badges, and maintaining visitor, vendor, and delivery logs.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or access control systems, and report irregular activity through required communication and documentation channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating site emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and support security-related procedures.
