As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and document observations with clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will support visitors and staff with professional customer service while living Allied Universal values of being agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, team-focused, and acting with integrity.

Requirements

  • Security experience of at least 2 years is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and/or support with onsite staff and public sector partners as directed.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify identification and/or authorization when required, and assist with managing visitor entry, deliveries, and contractor activity in accordance with post orders.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written logs and reports, and communicate pertinent information to supervisors and/or appropriate personnel.
