As a Screener with Allied Universal, you will support a corrections location by conducting entry screening, verifying credentials, managing access points, and documenting security-related activity. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and help to deter prohibited items from entering the facility. Requirements

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and post orders at an access control screening location.
  • Screen people and permitted items at entry points using assigned screening equipment and visual inspections, helping to identify prohibited items and/or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry, issue visitor instructions as directed, and maintain required logs and screening documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency responders per site procedures.
  • Monitor screening lanes and nearby access areas for unusual activity, report maintenance issues with screening equipment, and communicate concerns to supervision.
