As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine vehicle patrols, and remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents. You will document observations using a computer or tablet, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver customer-focused service at key access points. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notification and coordination with site personnel and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of grounds, buildings, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazardous conditions.
  • Monitor gates, doors, and vehicle and pedestrian traffic, verify authorization as required, and help maintain controlled access in accordance with site procedures.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incidents in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate noteworthy activity to supervision per post orders.
