As an Unarmed Patrol Security Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, and stay visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service. You will communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and responding partners, documenting observations and reporting concerns with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license per Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, parking lots, storefront corridors, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and fire or alarm notifications, and notify appropriate parties as required.
- Monitor access points and observe foot and vehicle traffic for unusual activity, provide directions and assistance, and report policy violations to site leadership.
- Complete shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports, and communicate relevant updates to supervisors and/or property management.
