Security Officer - Foot Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Walking Patrol in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, support students and staff with strong customer service, and communicate clearly while documenting observations. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Control access at designated entry points, check identification and/or visitor authorization when required, and assist with directions, escorts, and other campus-related requests.
- Complete timely reports and logs of patrol activity, incidents, and unusual conditions, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
