About The Position

As a Security Officer for City Transit in Long Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support riders and staff with clear directions and professional communication. Requirements

• Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, employees, riders, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public transportation location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatch notifications, medical calls, disturbances, and/or property concerns.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of platforms, waiting areas, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and document observations while coordinating with Allied Universal leadership and local public agencies as needed.
• Complete required reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and/or shift handoff notes, and communicate key information to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
