As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and team members, help control access points, and screen people and packages as they move through the facility. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activity with clear, professional communication. Requirements

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, drivers, and/or deliveries as required, including checking identification, verifying access authorization, and monitoring entry and exit points.
  • Inspect bags, packages, and/or outbound items in accordance with site requirements, documenting exceptions and notifying site leadership as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, contacting emergency services when directed, and completing required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, monitor gates and dock areas, and report hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
