About The Position

As a Security Officer - Front Desk in Kalamazoo, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a financial institution, you will welcome members and staff, manage access, and assist with security-related questions while maintaining a professional, service-first presence. You will monitor lobby activity, handle visitor logs and badges, and communicate clearly with onsite teams to help identify and report concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, members, and visitors at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
  • Monitor the lobby and entry area, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized access by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and managing access control per site-specific policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, member disturbances, and medical situations, and notify Allied Universal leadership and local responders as required.
  • Maintain an accurate front desk log of visitor activity, deliveries, incidents, and service requests, and complete required reports using approved formats and/or systems.
  • Answer phones and provide directions and general information, coordinate with branch staff on guest arrivals and service needs, and support a professional customer experience while following confidentiality requirements.
