About The Position

As a Security Officer - Front Desk in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. At an education location, you will be the welcoming front desk presence for Allied Universal, supporting a professional environment through security-related screening and access control. You will greet and assist students, staff, and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges as needed, monitor cameras and alarms, document activity, and communicate concerns to site contacts. Bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach while staying agile, reliable, and innovative.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Staff the front desk to greet and screen visitors, verify identification, issue visitor passes, and manage sign-in and/or access authorization according to site requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and communication systems from the front desk, document unusual activity, and notify appropriate personnel when conditions warrant.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with on-site staff and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activity, incidents, and visitor activity, and support access control tasks such as key control and badge management per site policy.
