Security Officer - Gate Entry Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Gate Entry Control in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting access control at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and team members, verify credentials, manage visitor and trailer check-in, and monitor entry points and nearby areas. You will stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, document activity, and communicate clearly with site leadership. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor check-in and/or check-out, issuing credentials as directed, and maintaining access logs.
- Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and trailer traffic by confirming appointments, directing drivers to designated areas, and communicating access issues to site leadership as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or policy violations.
