About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gate Patrol Driver in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading technology data center location as an unarmed patrol officer. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, and provide clear customer service and communication to help support a professional, orderly environment. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal protocols, site-specific procedures, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations at a technology facility.
  • Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, alarms, and/or equipment issues to appropriate contacts according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance, direction, and/or notifications in line with site procedures.
  • Complete shift documentation, incident reports, and patrol logs with clear, timely details and communicate relevant security-related information during shift transitions.
