Security Officer - Gatehouse Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Access Control in Vandalia, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a financial institution location, you will manage access control, greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, and document entries. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, while communicating clearly with staff and responding to issues as they arise. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
- Control access to the facility by screening visitors, verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs per site policy.
- Monitor entry points, doors, and security-related systems such as cameras and alarm panels, and report irregular activity and/or maintenance issues according to post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify hazards, and document observations.
