As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials and badges, and support visitor processing while delivering service-focused communication. You will conduct routine patrols and document security-related activity, helping to reduce incidents through a visible presence and timely reporting. Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to client personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial chemical manufacturing location.
  • Control access at gates, lobbies, and/or guard shacks by verifying identification, issuing visitor badges, managing sign-in logs, and directing authorized traffic to designated areas.
  • Conduct vehicle and/or package screening as required by site policy, including checking delivery documentation, confirming appointment information, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or access control systems, document routine activity, and complete incident reports with clear, timely, and accurate details.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site contacts and/or emergency services when directed by post orders.
