About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in Montgomery, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a commercial real estate location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, and maintain accurate access logs while providing a welcoming, professional presence. You will conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to requests with clear communication, and support a culture built on integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, employees, contractors, and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial property location.
  • Control access at entrances and loading areas by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor badges, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized individuals to the proper areas.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while notifying management and/or emergency services as required by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, exterior perimeter, parking areas, and other assigned spaces, reporting security-related concerns, hazards, and maintenance issues.
  • Complete clear, timely documentation including shift activity reports, incident reports, access control records, and other required logs, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
