About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Driver in Piedmont, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecommunications location where you will focus on access control and front-line customer service. You will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage badges, monitor entry points, and document security-related activity while communicating clearly with site teams. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements, supporting occasional mobile coverage as needed.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to site employees, contractors, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access at a tech and telecommunications location by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor badges, managing access cards, and maintaining accurate visitor and access logs.
• Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems to help to deter unauthorized entry, and report irregular activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuation or shelter actions when directed by site leadership and/or emergency services.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, and the perimeter, and document observations and actions in required reports.
