About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gatehouse Screening in Champaign, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced food and beverage location where you will support access control by greeting visitors, confirming credentials, managing entry points, and logging activity using site technology. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, while providing strong customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage production and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing the visitor log, and directing guests and contractors to approved check-in areas.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and deliveries using site protocols, confirm appointments and/or shipping documentation, and help to deter unauthorized entry, removal of product, or other policy violations.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, document unusual activity, and respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while coordinating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed shift reports, incident documentation, and pass-down communications, and conduct periodic checks of doors, gates, and receiving areas to support consistent access control practices.
