Job Description As a Security Officer - Hospital Patrol Rounds in Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns. You will support access control, assist staff, patients, and visitors with courteous communication, and document activity using site technology. Requirements

  • This is a hospital site that requires vaccines.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies at a healthcare location, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazards; document observations per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying authorization for staff, patients, vendors, and visitors, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in and/or waiting areas.
  • Complete thorough incident reports, activity logs, and shift communications; preserve relevant information for follow-up and support continuity between shifts.
