About The Position

As a Security Officer - Hospital Screening Desk in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government healthcare location, you will greet patients, visitors, and staff while supporting screening and access procedures for vaccine-related areas. You will maintain a visible presence at entry points, monitor activity, communicate clearly, and document security-related observations and incidents. Guided by Allied Universal values, you will bring agility, reliability, and integrity to every interaction, working as a team to support a welcoming environment.

Requirements

  • Hospital vaccines are required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, patients, and staff by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and approved screening procedures at designated entry points.
  • Screen individuals and belongings using assigned equipment and visual checks, helping to deter prohibited items and/or unauthorized access while maintaining a professional, respectful approach.
  • Verify identification, visitor purpose, and required access permissions, and direct individuals to the appropriate check-in, department, and/or waiting area.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying the appropriate personnel and documenting observations per procedure.
  • Complete required logs, incident reports, and screening documentation, and communicate relevant security-related information to site leadership and/or emergency responders as needed.
