As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Lafayette, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and patients while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Possession of a guard card/license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting clinical staff and/or additional support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location, including interior units, common areas, entrances, and the perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and manage authorized entry, including verifying identification, directing visitors, and maintaining visitor logs per site policy.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, document observed conditions, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
