As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol buildings and grounds, conduct routine rounds, support access control and badge checks, and respond to incidents with calm communication and strong customer service. You will stay highly visible to help to deter security-related issues while partnering with campus staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to campus clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes; note and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation, crowd management, and/or scene control until additional resources arrive.
  • Monitor access points and public areas as assigned, help to deter unauthorized entry and/or misconduct, and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors with directions, escorts, and general inquiries.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation including incident reports, activity logs, and/or pass-on information, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
