Job Description As a Security Officer - Lobby Screening in Blountstown, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a correctional location, you will be a key presence at points of entry, helping to manage access through ID checks, visitor processing, and security-related screening procedures. You will maintain clear logs, communicate concerns quickly, and support routine patrol activities nearby as needed. You will bring our agile, reliable, and innovative mindset to each shift, delivering through teamwork and acting with integrity.

Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific, security-related procedures and policies, and when appropriate, supporting emergency response activities.
  • Screen people, property, and authorized items at entry points using approved screening methods and equipment, helping to deter prohibited items from entering the location.
  • Control access by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials when required, and directing individuals to designated areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and promptly notifying Allied Universal management and site contacts as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter points as directed, with working conditions varying by location.
