As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will welcome drivers and team members, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and help maintain orderly traffic and visitor flow. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activity with clear communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures and access control policies at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, documenting arrivals and departures, and directing traffic flow as needed.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and communication systems and report unusual activity to the appropriate contacts to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching assistance, completing incident reports, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter, checking doors, gates, and staging areas; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
