Security Officer - Main Gate Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Main Gate Control in Cleveland, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced transportation location where you will manage access control, greet drivers and visitors, and verify credentials to support smooth site operations. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a transportation location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing temporary badges as directed, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing drivers, employees, and guests to the appropriate check-in areas.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems and report irregular activity, damaged barriers, and/or unauthorized entry attempts according to site protocols.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site management and/or public emergency services when appropriate and completing required reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, parking areas, docks, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
