About The Position

As a Security Officer - Main Lobby Desk in Kansas City, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Front Desk Officer with Allied Universal, you will be the welcoming first point of contact at a professional office location, helping manage access, greet visitors, and support a smooth check-in process. You will monitor activity through established procedures, communicate clearly with staff and guests, and document security-related events. Bring a people-first mindset, integrity, and teamwork as you help to deter incidents through a visible, service-focused presence.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff the front desk to help manage access control by greeting guests, verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
  • Monitor lobby activity and security-related systems as assigned, and report irregular conditions to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and completing required reports.
  • Support daily operations by answering phones, receiving deliveries, maintaining visitor logs, and coordinating with building staff and/or client representatives as needed.
