About The Position
As a Security Officer - Manufacturing & Industrial in Kankakee, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will welcome employees and visitors, manage access check-ins, issue credentials, and monitor security-related systems and cameras. You will handle calls, document incidents, and coordinate with onsite teams to help to deter unwanted activity while delivering professional customer service. Requirements
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service at the front desk by following Allied Universal site-specific procedures and security-related policies, including answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing employees and guests.
- Control access to the manufacturing and industrial location by verifying identification, issuing temporary badges, maintaining visitor and vendor logs, and coordinating with on-site contacts for approvals.
- Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control panels from the desk, documenting irregular activity and reporting concerns through the chain of command to help to deter unauthorized access.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities as directed by post orders and contacting appropriate internal and external resources.
- Complete detailed written reports, incident documentation, and shift turnover notes, maintaining accurate records of security-related activities and communications.
