As a Screener at a busy healthcare location, you will welcome visitors, support access control, and screen entries while providing clear directions and courteous service. You will stay alert to unusual activity, document key observations, and communicate concerns to the care team and site leadership to help reduce security-related incidents. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 02:30 PM - 11:00 PM Fri 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Screen patients, visitors, vendors, and deliveries at entry points using approved methods such as ID verification, visitor registration, badge issuance, and bag screening to help support controlled access.
  • Monitor entry areas, waiting areas, and nearby corridors for unusual activity and policy concerns, and communicate observed issues to clinical staff, management, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation support, reporting, and coordination with medical staff and local responders when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site and shift requirements.
