About The Position

As a Security Officer - Mobile Patrol in Chesapeake, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and communications location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor check-in. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site teams, and respond to situations with a calm, customer-focused approach. Requirements

  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • A CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology workplace location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, lobbies, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and other building systems as assigned; identify irregular conditions and report findings to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including access control issues, medical calls for service, and/or disturbances, and coordinate with local responders when directed.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation; communicate key observations during post handoff to support consistent security-related operations.
