About The Position

As a Security Officer - Night Driver Patrol in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist staff and visitors with professional customer service and clear communication. You will also support access control and badge checks as needed. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license in line with AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, donors, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and help manage visitor and vendor entry by verifying identification, issuing badges as directed, and/or directing individuals to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, medical-related disturbances, disruptive behavior, and/or potential hazards, and promptly notify site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports with accurate details, and communicate security-related concerns and/or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
