About The Position

As a Security Officer - Overnight Logistics Access Control in Madison, WI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet and screen visitors, manage entry points, verify credentials, and support dock and yard traffic flow. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activity with clear, professional communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution facility.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and authorization for employees, drivers, and visitors, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, and maintaining access logs.
  • Screen and direct incoming and outgoing vehicle traffic, including checking delivery documentation, coordinating dock and yard access, and communicating access decisions with onsite contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting events and notifying appropriate contacts per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations, and report maintenance hazards or irregular conditions.
