Job Description As a Security Officer - Overnight Patrol Driver in Cleveland, OH , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher education location, you will patrol assigned areas and complete regular vehicle and foot rounds, helping to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence and strong communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will respond to calls, document observations, assist students, faculty, and visitors, and support a caring, integrity-driven team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors by following site-specific procedures and campus policies and/or guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and security-related concerns.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, observe for unusual activity, and report policy violations, hazards, and suspicious behavior to the appropriate campus contacts and/or public resources.
  • Complete required reports such as incident reports, shift activity logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
