About The Position

As a Security Officer - Overnight Site Patrol in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as an unarmed patrol officer. You will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control while delivering outstanding customer service. Working with a caring team that values integrity, you will communicate clearly, respond to concerns, and help keep operations moving with agile, reliable, and innovative service.

Requirements

• Be 21+ years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• X‐ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, yard areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazardous conditions.
• Control access by monitoring entrances, gates, and delivery areas, checking credentials and/or visitor logs per site policy, and reporting irregularities.
• Complete security-related reports and daily activity logs, communicate status updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision, and support loading and shipping operations as needed.
