As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage access control by verifying credentials, issuing and tracking badges, and guiding visitors and contractors through entry procedures. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible, and document security-related activity while communicating clearly with site teams. Requirements

• Have 6+ months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• State, County, or City Issued Security License is preferred.
• Customer Service Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, contractors, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing authorized personnel to the proper areas.
• Screen and document deliveries, service vendors, and contractor check-ins, including verifying work authorization and coordinating access with on-site personnel as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or emergency services per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, operational areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
