Requirements
- Have a minimum of 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying authorization, and supporting sign-in and/or badging requirements.
- Monitor entry and exit points, gates, and other controlled areas to help to deter unauthorized access and support protection of utility operations and critical infrastructure.
- Maintain accurate access control logs and reports, issue temporary credentials as directed, and communicate policy reminders in a professional manner.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying appropriate contacts and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, yards, and perimeter areas, checking doors, fences, and restricted zones for unusual conditions and reporting findings per procedure.
