As an Access Control Officer at a busy government waterfront location, you will welcome visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and maintain clear logs and reports. You will remain visible and professional to help support security-related operations while delivering helpful customer service and strong communication. Requirements

  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service while conducting access control duties at a government location, following site-specific policies, credential requirements, and Allied Universal procedures.
  • Verify identification, badges, and/or access authorizations for employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicles; manage sign-in logs, visitor passes, and key control as required.
  • Monitor entry points, gates, and related systems such as cameras, alarms, and communication radios; document irregular activity and notify appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating emergency response activities and coordinating with onsite personnel and/or public agency partners.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, including perimeter checks and restricted zones, and complete detailed reports on findings and actions taken.
