As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with calm communication and customer service. You will respond to calls, document activity, and work as part of a team that is agile, reliable, and innovative, always acting with integrity while putting people first.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to meet hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Be able to work in a hospital morgue environment.
  • Be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas and the exterior perimeter, checking doors, sensitive areas, and common spaces, and documenting observations per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating notifications to clinical staff and/or local responders as directed.
  • Monitor access points and public areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized entry, and provide direction and assistance to visitors in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Complete security-related reports, incident documentation, and activity logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
