As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support shoppers and associates with friendly customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, observe activity, respond to concerns, and document and communicate updates clearly. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail environment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and requesting law enforcement and/or medical support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, common areas, stock areas, parking lots, and along the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points, observe for unusual activity and/or policy violations, and help to deter theft, vandalism, and other disruptive behavior through visible presence and professional communication.
  • Complete reports and logs for incidents, patrol activities, and service requests, and communicate observations to store management and Allied Universal leadership.
