As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy government transportation waterfront location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with the public and staff, provide clear communication, and respond to situations with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA-issued TWIC card.
  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, commuters, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, docks, passenger waiting areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verifying credentials and/or permissions as required and directing individuals to the appropriate location or contact.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Complete timely written reports and shift logs, documenting patrol activity, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to oncoming personnel and site contacts.
