As a Screener with Allied Universal at an education location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting access control and entry screening procedures. You will remain highly visible, conduct rounds in assigned areas, document and report security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with site partners. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct entry screening at designated access points, including verifying identification, managing visitor check-in, and performing authorized bag checks and/or magnetometer screening in accordance with site procedures.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and nearby corridors for unusual activity and report concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with site leadership and/or responding public services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building and perimeter when assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
