As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control and badge checks, and assist with loss prevention efforts. You will greet customers and team members, communicate clearly, and document observations while working as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative Allied Universal team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout sales floors, stock areas, receiving areas, and exterior perimeters to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and policy concerns.
  • Monitor customer and team member activity for potential policy violations, theft-related behaviors, and disturbances, and report observations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, medical assistance requests, and coordination with local responders as needed.
  • Complete shift reports and incident documentation, communicate pertinent information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, and assist with access control and guest directions as assigned.
