About The Position
As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy industrial location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and service requests, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, supported by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and integrity-driven culture.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities at an industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, parking areas and the perimeter, noting irregular activity or hazardous conditions and reporting them per post orders.
- Monitor access points and assist with access control by observing for authorized entry, verifying credentials when directed and documenting visitor, contractor and delivery activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifications and coordinating with supervisors and local responders as needed.
- Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, alarms and service requests, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
