Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related screening, and appropriate emergency response activities within a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervisors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance, behavioral, and/or security-related issues.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access as directed by site policies, and assist with visitor check-in, directions, and general support in a professional manner.
  • Support shelter operations by observing resident interactions, reporting unusual behavior, and assisting with de-escalation support and/or emergency procedures when appropriate.
