About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Rounds in Poughkeepsie, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be a visible presence while conducting routine patrols, watching for security-related concerns, and reporting issues with clear communication. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by following Allied Universal post orders, campus location procedures, and site-specific policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor, student, and staff traffic flow by verifying identification when required, directing individuals to appropriate offices, and/or reporting access concerns.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, medical calls for service, and other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner; request assistance from campus officials and/or public responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and/or shift notes; communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or incoming officers using approved reporting systems.
