Security Officer - Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - 21+ Patrol Unit in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a premier commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support tenants and visitors with professional customer service and clear communication. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response instructions as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the commercial property, including interior common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points, documenting observations per post orders.
- Monitor for and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations, helping to deter unwanted activity through professional presence and timely communication.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with property management and/or local responders when appropriate.
- Complete required reports such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity summaries, using Allied Universal reporting tools and site procedures.
