As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned buildings and grounds, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, respond to calls for assistance, write clear reports, and deliver professional customer service through calm communication. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence hall exteriors, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with alarms, medical calls, disputes, and/or policy violations, and notifying appropriate campus resources as directed.
• Control access at designated posts by observing entry points, verifying credentials as required, monitoring visitor flow, and reporting irregularities according to site procedures.
• Document and report security-related incidents, patrol findings, and noteworthy observations using written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate updates to site leadership as needed.
