About The Position

As a Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including requesting assistance and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouse areas, trailer and truck staging zones, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
• Monitor access points and traffic flow for employees, drivers, and visitors by verifying authorization, observing for unusual activity, and reporting concerns through the chain of command.
• Complete detailed written reports and logs, including patrol observations, incident reports, and shift activity documentation, and communicate key information during shift transitions.
